Recently purchased a new rice cooker and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.
When I first opened the box, I found an extra loose screw inside the inner pot. At the time, I didn’t think too much of it, although it already felt strange that a brand new product would have loose parts inside. When I used the rice cooker for the first time, I noticed it was leaking water while cooking.
The next day, I submitted a product issue form through the official website. However, I did not receive any response for a full week. After following up a second time, customer service replied several days later and informed me that I needed to return the faulty unit to their Sydney warehouse. They stated that a replacement would only be dispatched within three business days after they received and processed the returned item.
During this two week period of time, I had no rice cooker to use, which was extremely inconvenient for my family.This is not my first time using Cuckoo products. We have used many of their appliances in both Korea and China, and we have never experienced anything like this before. After receiving the replacement, I strongly felt that the original unit sent to me may have been a returned or defective product, rather than a brand-new one.
Overall, this was a very disappointing purchasing experience.
