BEFORE YOU BUY
Is this the right water filter jug for you?
It suits anyone who wants better-tasting tap water from a simple jug with no installation. It is not a disinfection system, and it does not heat, chill or sparkle water.
A good fit if you want
- Less chlorine taste and odour in treated tap water
- A jug that works without plumbing or a mains power connection
- A slim jug (127 mm deep) for a fridge shelf
- A reusable alternative to buying bottled water
Not designed for
- Untreated bore water, rainwater or water of unknown quality
- Disinfecting water or making unsafe water safe to drink
- Hot water (use 5–35°C water only)
- Claims about specific contaminants such as fluoride, lead or microplastics; none are made

TASTE & ODOUR
Does a carbon filter jug make tap water taste better?
It can. The activated carbon block helps reduce chlorine taste and unpleasant odours in treated mains drinking water, so everyday glasses can taste fresher.
Use the filtered water for drinking, your usual drinks and food preparation. Refilling a reusable glass or bottle also means fewer single-use water bottles to buy and carry.
Taste varies with your water supply and filter condition. This jug does not heat or chill water.

ACTIVATED CARBON · BLOCK, NOT LOOSE GRANULES
What is a carbon block water filter?
A carbon block filter is activated carbon compressed into one porous solid, so water passes through the block instead of a bed of loose granules. Inside the CUCKOO InsPure filter housing is exactly this: a solid block of compressed activated carbon.
Activated carbon, often sold as a “charcoal” filter, has a large internal surface that certain substances bind to (adsorption). This helps reduce unwanted tastes and odours.
Carbon block or loose granules? Tap a structure to compare.
CUCKOO uses a solid carbon block; some other filters use loose granules.
One solid block. A fresher-tasting pour.
CUCKOO’s activated carbon is compressed into one porous block. As treated tap water passes through it, the carbon helps reduce chlorine taste and unpleasant odours.
Why it matters
Enjoy better-tasting water for everyday drinking, without plumbing or a mains power connection.
A bed of individual carbon granules
Granular activated carbon is made up of separate particles, with spaces between the granules.
Illustrations show structure and water direction only, not actual flow speed or comparative filtration performance. A new carbon filter can release fine carbon dust; soak and flush it before drinking.
BOTTLED WATER VS FILTER JUG
Over time: bottled water or a filter jug?
Choose a period, then adjust your daily water amount. Your purchase price and included filters are counted below.
Choose your comparison period
One jug holds up to 2.2 L of filtered water. Each comparison month is estimated as 90 ÷ 3 = 30 days; filter replacement is modelled at 90 days or 500 L, whichever comes first.
Based on 1.5 L bottled water at A$1.00.
4 L a day · 90 days
1 filter needed · 0 additional filters needed
At 4 L/day, plan to replace your filter after about 90 days.
2 unused included filters remain after 90 days.
Check the bottle size, prices and number of included filters in the settings.
Calculation settings · bundle & prices
Compare bottled water with the full set price plus any extra filters needed. Unused filters are not credited.
Example prices only; check and update them before publishing. A$22.50 per filter is based on a A$45 two-pack; it is a unit-cost estimate, not a single-filter selling price. Extra filters are costed in two-packs using the entered per-filter price; actual pack prices may differ. Edit the unit price to suit your purchase. The starter set includes 3 filters in total: 1 with the jug and 2 replacements.
Illustrative estimate using editable example prices. Prices and filter life vary. Bottle quantities are volume equivalents; tap water, delivery and filter preparation costs are excluded.
How is the saving calculated?
Daily litres × selected days ÷ bottle size × bottle price gives the bottled-water cost. Required filters are rounded up using the shorter of 90 days or 500 L at the chosen daily usage. Comparison months use 30 days; follow the manual’s calendar-month replacement guidance in practice. In filter-use mode, that cost is compared with required filters × the entered unit price. This is a replacement-cost comparison, not a return on the jug or bundle purchase. In purchase mode, the full selected purchase price and extra filters are deducted. Extra filters are priced in two-packs using the entered per-filter price. Remaining filters retain no credit. Filter-only packs require a compatible jug already owned. Bottle counts are volume equivalents; actual results vary with use and water quality.

TWO CAPACITIES · ONE EASY ROUTINE
How much filtered water does the 3.8 L jug hold?
Up to 2.2 L of the 3.8 L total is filtered, ready-to-pour water, about eight 250 mL glasses. Tap a capacity to see what each number means.
Total jug capacity
The overall capacity includes the space used by the upper reservoir and filter. It is not 3.8 L of filtered water ready to pour.
Filtered-water capacity
The lower chamber holds up to 2.2 L of filtered water, eight full 250 mL glasses, plus 200 mL left over.
Allow all water in the upper reservoir to filter before pouring, so unfiltered water does not mix with the filtered water.

SIZE & HANDLING
How big is it? Size, handling and fridge fit
The jug measures 265 W × 127 D × 253 H mm and weighs 0.77 kg. At 127 mm deep, its slim profile is practical for storage; check your shelf or fridge-door space before placing it inside.
The top inlet cover gives access for refilling, while the handle and covered pouring spout make it easy to use at the table.
Keep the jug upright and the lid securely fitted.
No installation
Gravity-fed filtration without plumbing or a mains power connection.
Refill from the top
Open the inlet cover to add safe, treated mains drinking water.
Reusable by design
Keep the jug and replace the filter when due.
FIRST USE & EVERY FILTER CHANGE
How do you prepare a new filter? Three steps before first use
Soak the filter for 10 minutes, flush it with three full fill-and-discard cycles, then reset the lid reminder. Repeat this with every replacement filter.

- 01
Wash & soak
Wash the jug body, reservoir and lid with mild washing-up liquid and a soft sponge, then rinse. Do not leave the lid soaking. Unwrap and submerge the filter; shake and turn it until bubbles stop, then soak for 10 minutes.
- 02
Fit & flush three times
Press the filter firmly into the reservoir, assemble the jug and secure the lid. Fill the upper reservoir, let it filter completely, then discard the water. Complete three full cycles before drinking.
- 03
Reset & refill
Hold START for at least eight seconds to reset the reminder. Refill with safe, treated mains water at 5–35°C. Wait for filtration to finish before pouring.
Fine carbon dust can be present on a new filter. Soak and flush as directed.

CLEANING & CARE
How do you clean a water filter jug?
Wash the jug body, reservoir and lid with mild washing-up liquid and a soft sponge, and rinse the filter with water only. Remove the filter before washing other parts.
Refrigerate filtered water, keep the lid closed and use it as soon as possible. Clean the jug regularly.

JUG BODY & RESERVOIR
Wash gently.
Use mild washing-up liquid and a soft sponge. The body and reservoir may go in a dishwasher at a maximum of 50°C. Hand-wash the lid and avoid prolonged soaking.

FILTER
Rinse with water only.
Never use detergent or bleach on the filter, and do not put it in a dishwasher. Replace the complete filter when due; cartridge dismantling is for end-of-life disposal only.
Use treated mains drinking water only. This jug is not a disinfecting system. Do not use untreated bore water, rainwater or water of unknown quality. Follow your water supplier’s advice during a boil-water alert.

Starter Set and water filter jug FAQs
How many filters are in the Starter Set?
Three: 1 with the CPWP-C3801W jug and 2 replacements in one CPWPFS-C10N(2EA) box.
How is the Starter Set different from the Value Pack?
Both include the same jug. The Starter Set has 3 filters in total; the Value Pack has 5. Replace each filter after 3 months or 500 L, whichever comes first; actual life varies with water quality and usage.
What is a carbon block water filter jug?
It is a water filter jug whose filter is activated carbon compressed into one porous solid block. Water filters through the block into the lower chamber, which helps reduce unwanted tastes and odours. The CUCKOO InsPure jug uses this block construction.
Is the CUCKOO InsPure a water purifier or a water filter jug?
It is a gravity-fed water filter jug (also called a pitcher). The product name says “Water Purifier Jug”, but it is not a plumbed-in or electric purifier dispenser and it does not disinfect water. Use safe, treated mains drinking water only.
Does it improve the taste of tap water?
It can. The carbon block filter helps reduce chlorine taste and unpleasant odours in treated tap water. Results depend on your water supply, correct filter preparation and filter condition.
How much filtered water does the jug hold?
Up to 2.2 L, which is eight 250 mL glasses. The 3.8 L figure is the total jug capacity. Wait until all water in the upper reservoir has filtered before pouring.
How often should I replace the filter?
Every three months or 500 L, whichever comes first. The lid indicator counts days, not litres or water quality, so higher-use households may need to change it earlier.
Which replacement filter fits the CPWP-C3801W?
Use CUCKOO replacement filters supplied in the CPWPFS-C10N(2EA) box (2 filters). These filters are made for the CPWP-C3801W jug and are not universal replacements.
Why are there black particles when the filter is new?
A new activated carbon filter may release fine carbon dust. Submerge and shake the filter until bubbles stop, soak for 10 minutes, then fit it and complete three fill-filter-discard cycles before drinking. If particles persist after correct flushing, contact CUCKOO Support.
How do I clean the jug? Can it go in the dishwasher?
Wash with mild washing-up liquid and a soft sponge. Only the jug body and reservoir may go in a dishwasher, at a maximum of 50°C. Hand-wash the lid without prolonged soaking. Never put the filter in a dishwasher or use detergent or bleach on it.
Can I use it with hot water, rainwater or bore water?
No. Use safe, treated mains drinking water at 5–35°C only. The jug is not a substitute for disinfection and must not be used to make unsafe water drinkable.
Does it remove fluoride, lead, heavy metals or microplastics?
This listing makes no claim about fluoride, lead, other heavy metals or microplastics. The filter is described for reducing chlorine taste and unpleasant odours in treated mains water. If you need a specific contaminant reduced, look for independent test certification for that contaminant.
How do I reset the filter-life indicator?
After preparing and fitting a new filter, hold START for at least eight seconds. The display starts at 90 days. Keep the indicator switched on during normal use so the countdown continues.
Do I need electricity or plumbing?
No. Gravity filtration needs no mains power or plumbing. The lid has an electronic countdown reminder; it does not power the filtration process.
Will it fit in my fridge?
The jug measures 265 W × 127 D × 253 H mm and weighs 0.77 kg. Measure your shelf or door space against these dimensions before ordering, and keep the jug upright with the lid securely fitted.
Can I recycle the used filter?
The original manual describes separating the carbon cartridge, housing, cap and O-ring at end of life. Check your local council’s acceptance rules before recycling plastic parts; small or mixed-material parts may not be accepted. Never reuse a dismantled cartridge.
