My new kettle is not bad. Mostly stainless steel interior except for the plastic latch mechanism that secures the lid, which comes into contact with the condensation during boiling and the water as it is being poured. If this was also stainless steel, or if the lid was redesigned to truely have no plastic exposed to water or steam at any stage it would be 5 stars.
This kettle is all stainless on the inside. The outside however is plastic and makes it look cheap. For the price it should be metal. The lid doesn’t fully seal, so yes if you do pour quickly or when there’s little water left it will come out from under the lid possibly causing a burn. Also when you open the lid, the hot water from condensation under it drips down the back of the kettle. Again could cause a burn. A simple silicone ring would seal the kettle, and potentially help with the condensation dripping and prevent someone from getting burnt. The kettle is also quite large and heavy when fully filled. It works well though and is all stainless. If some small key issues were fixed I would highly recommend.
Great kettle. Works as it should, without fuss. I also like how it shows the temperature of the water, so at times I haven’t needed to re-heat it. I haven’t had any issues with the touch-sensitive controls.
One of the few kettles available in Australia with no plastic at all on the inside - just what we were after. Well put together and boils quickly and it's nice to be able to set it to 80 or 90 degrees for green tea.
